Philadelphia

Yup, I'm in Philadelphia now. This morning we took the Greyhound from Atlantic City to Philly. Atlantic City was nice, I like the idea of walking by the beach on the wooden walkway, along the broadwalk with seagulls flying around you. It was really relaxing, the pace was also much slower than in New York. The casino was pretty disappointing though, we went over to Trump's Taj Mahal. Majority of the casino were slot machines, they didn't have the big and small games that I like. So I had to settle with playing a little jackpot. Wasn't really that exciting, in the end it was no win no lose. It was one cents a line, so after an hour of jackpot I lost 20 cents. When I went to cash out the money, the lady gave me back the 20 cents, so there wasn't any loss, hahaha.

Philly was alright, not much to do here. When we reached, I took the parents to check in at the hotel while my bro went over to get the tickets to the congress hall. After we checked in, we went to meet my bro at the hall, but we were a little late, so I had to get another 5 tickets for us, haha. So we decided to go see the Liberty Bell first before going over to the hall (they were just next to each other). After all that we went over to grab the famous Philly Cheezesticks, but the queue there was really long, so we changed our minds and settled for cheezesticks at another joint instead (I believe they all taste about the same). Then we headed over to Chinatown and to the reading market before going back to rest at the hotel. The hotel here is really good, very comfortable, but the beds are a little small though. Then I had to do a little planning for the next half of our trip. Considering the weather, I will probably have to make a slight detour in our route and delay the Niagara Falls by a day. Well now I'm still thinking about where we should stop so as to make the whole trip more enjoyable for everyone. It is the first time I'm making so many planning decisions for so many people, so this trip is really quite a learning process for me. I've learnt so much about accommodation and making adjustments to everyones' needs. Generally its all about give and take and putting everyone's limitations into consideration. I just hope that everyone will enjoy this trip.

Although we didn't do too much in Philly but I think this rest will do everyone good. Its really nice to see everyone more relaxed and energized. Now I'm actually on the look out for a walking stick for my dad. I think that will help him in our travel and walk. I'm not saying that he'll need it for the rest of his life, but I just feel that it will help him because we are walking quite a bit now. What I don't want is for him to become over dependent on it. So if I do find one, I will try to make sure that he only uses it during this trip, after the trip I will keep it aside until our next outing. Well now I can only hope for the best for the rest of the trip. Good luck to us!!!

Day 3 NYC

Today is museum day... We went over to the Museum of National History. It was used to film this Ben Stellar film - A night in the museum. Yup, the museum was great. It was super big, and it had almost everything inside. Everything was catergorised clearly, ranging from dinosaurs to artifacts to religon to native american history. It was quite an eye opener. We took almost half a day there, we had initially underestimated the time required. We had planned to go to another art museum and the UN headquaters, but didn't have time for that. Anyway, at the museum, we went for this space show (paid another 12 bucks for it). The show was pretty good, something like a Omimax show, about stars and creation of the moon and galaxy. The 1/2 hour show was pretty spectacular.

After the museum thingy, dad went back to rest at the hotel while we went to Time square for another round of shopping... Wahahaha. Of course we went back to Planet Hollywood to use up the $40 that we had. And also went to M&M world to grab some choc. I bought a packet of coloured M&Ms and 3 boxes of M&M for Alvin n Dennis. Then, we head over to Macy's for more shopping. We split up so that we could explore the mall. Went to checkout the wallets and bags with mum while Da gu went to checkout the coach stuff. While mum was looking through some bags, I saw this coin wallet form Fossil that was really quite nice....I so wanted to buy it, it was only $14 and I have another 11% discount. But of course I had to remind myself that I have too many wallets back home and that I should not buy it... But I really like it, at least I have not seen Fossil wallets in SG. Da gu had a great time at Coach. She picked up a bag for Er Gu, and then her weakness for wallets overcame her again.... hahaha, she got another 4 more wallets and small bags for herself. Spending a cool $300. Hahaha. But as always, I would say if you are buying things that you like, its worth it. As long as it makes you happy.

Then back at the hotel, it was check results time... quite worried about it. But I got through... wahahaha. Got 2 Cs for fluids and nano. An A for E&S, and Bs for the rest. its not a fabulous result but I would probably consider it reasonable, at least I got through. Really happy now... So its more shopping and more playing and more fun...... hahahaha. More to come!

Day 2 in NYC

We went to visit Liberty and Ellis island today. It was great! Finally saw the main representation of US, the pride of the whole nation. But it was a little chilly though. We were like super excited and awed by the statue, but was also struggling with the cold. Took a lot of photos, can't wait to upload them here. Ellis island was interesting, it was the immigration checkpoint of the past. Can you imagine that at one time there was more than 3000 people on the island, waiting to see if they could enter the states. Those that do not pass would be sent back to their country. Its pretty sad because some of them came with their family only to be separated at the island. But the funny part was a little girl, who was watching the video, fall alseep. And she was snoring away, very loudly, haha. And the parents don't seem to feel anything about it. Everyone was watching her, and the parents just let her be.

Anyway after that we went to Walls street to touch the bull and see the World Trade Center site. Mum and Dad bought shoes at Century 21. The place was pretty good, branded shoes were going at discounted prices. Well the main reason for the buy was of course their feet hurt, and so needed better shoes.

After that we headed down to Chinatown and Little Italy. Had dinner at Chinatown, which was super nice (actually it was just okie, but its been some time since we had some real food, other than bread, so we thought it was great). And after dinner we went to walk around the area. Then my aunt suggested that she bring my parents back to the hotel to rest, and I can shop around on my own. I was alright with the idea (although I would really like to have them shopping with me), because I know that they are tired from the 2 days of walking, and they really need to recharge to last the next 10 days. So I decided that for the next few days, there will be less walking, and more rest. I really want everyone to enjoy themselves and not to tire themselves out from this holiday, I want them to relax too. So we will take things slowly from now and just see whatever we can with our time. Even if we miss a few stuff, its ok.

So back to the shopping. Man, I love New York, the shopping was terrific. I went into Banana Republic and there was like discounts everywhere. I fell in love with this red cardigan, but its too expensive, even with discount it cost like USD$140. So I settled for a maroon shirt that cost me $40. Love that shirt. Then I went into Levis, of course thinking that I won't get anything there, but there was sale..... 50% off. Hahaha. So I grabbed a jeans for only USD$20. It is super cheap. I so wanted to get a jeans jacket, but had to control myself, keep reminding myself that I won;t have a chance to wear it back home. Then I wanted to get another jeans because it was so cheap, but of course I kept controlling myself because I know that I have a lot of jeans at home. Then I walked over to Times Square (a very long walk, its like 40 streets away, and the best part is it was raining), I wanted to go to Planet Hollywood to use that $40 voucher that come with the NY pass. So I brave the rain and walked to 44th Street and got a Tee at PH, a key chain and 2 golfballs (I needed to get at least 4 items to use the full $40). So I needed to topup another $4 for the purchase, but I thought it was worth it. Then I went to M&M world to check it out, didn't buy anything there, but it was super nice. It was like M&M everywhere, I wanted to get something there, but didn't know who for, so I thought that if I wanted I'll comeback again later. And after that I went over to Hershey's World, there I bought some chocs for my guys back home. There was an offer of 4 pac of choc for $12, so I took 4 pac, it is quite a lot of choc but I thought I can share them with my mum (she'll need some for her colleagues as well).

After my shopping spree, I went to take the subway back to the hotel. The 1st line I went to was close, and I was thinking oh shit, what am I gonna do. So I continued walking down the street and lucky me, there was another entrance to the subway. Went to the counter to ask the lady if the subway goes in the direction of my hotel but her instruction were so unclear, I tried to clarify but my coins fell on the floor, and she rolled her eyes and gave me that look on her face, what a bitch. So I just bought the tickets and took the subway. On the train I was feeling a little scared, probably because of all the stuff that my uncle told me. So half way through the journey someone like shouted to everyone on the train that he is poor and all that, and I was a little worried already, luckily nothing happened. Still managed to get back to the hotel safely, was a little late though, hopefully I didn't get my parents too worried about me.

Okie that all for today. More interesting stories to come, stay tuned!

New York, New York

Finally after a grueling 22 hours of flights, half way around the globe, we are finally at New York.... whaahaha. The journey was tough, but now that we're here... the flight was all history, we'll just look forward to the next 2 weeks.

Well just now we almost got conned by some scam cab driver, he wanted like USD $97 excluding the toll for the ride from JFK to our hotel. But luckily we did our homework to know that the journey should only cost us USD$45. So we went back to the Airport and got help from the information counter. This nice lady directed us to the front to take the cab for USD$45 excluding the $4 toll charge.

So now that we got to the hotel safely, lets see whats next =)

Its time to party

Hey Bloggie, one last blog before I leave. Yup, I'll be flying off in just a few hours time, the time now is 4.22 am and my flight is at 10.00am. Will have to be at the airport at around 8.00am which also means that I won't have time to sleep already, hahaha. I just came back from all the well wishings gathering with cy, shy, beng and his gf. Basically we went to Pool junction 1st, then to Mustafa Shopping Centre. After that we decided to just chill out at Yong He Beancurd. But what should have been a 5 min drive to Yong He, turn out to be an hour, yes I waited at Yong He an hour for them to arrive, all because cy went the wrong way. But it was still nice of them to 'see me off'.

Anyway, it has been a hectic week. So much to do, and so much happened. Of course the top being that I'm going to the US, hahaha. Then there was the meet up with our year one class after cy came back from Japan. And that was the bomb. Cy sort of hinted that I used to like someone, then the whole gathering became a guess who I like session, damn it.

Another very touching thing happened today. When we went to our Christmas gathering, it was all super fun, we even had our own Santa. Yup, no prizes for guessing who's Santa (yess its Xiao Gu). Had lots of food, and even performances by John, Joceline and Nicholas. They did their violin thingy which was great. Then there was Xiao Yi and her 2 darlings singing Christmas songs for us. All in all it was a great party. And the thing is Aunt Susan, knowing that we're leaving for US, asked me to the room because she wanted to pass me some money for the trip (without my mum's knowledge). And to my surprise, she passed to me USD$1000. I was like momentarily dumbfounded. Because I never like others to give me money for a holiday, even more when its such a big amount. Of course I really appreciate the gesture, but it just seem to right. She wanted me to bring my mum to eat good food and have fun, without thinking that money was an issue. I was very touched then, it really occured to me that the people around me really cares for my family. But I still fell this is not right, so I will remember this forever, and will try to repay them even more when I have the means. Thank you everyone.

Okie I guess I shouldn't be blogging for too long, cause I still have some stuff to pack. Will update when I get to US (I'll be bringing my lappie with me, so I'm still connnected, hahaha). And lastly good luck to everyone (esp myself) for the exams, results coming out soon, cross my fingers and hope that I'll clear this sem as well..... Bon Voyage!

1 week Countdown

Just one more week to Christmas, and its also one more week before I fly to New York, Hurray!!!! Been looking forward to this trip ever since I decided to go there. But planning for the trip is really draining, I have been searching online and looking through travel books everyday for the past 2 weeks. It like studying for exams all over again. Hopefully everything will go as according to my plans. But there's a major problem now. It seems that there's a winter storm around the great lakes area, and it goes all the way up to New England. And thats exactly where I'm planning on going.... The Niagara Falls and to Boston... So now I'm worrying that the weather will disrupt my travel plans (eg planes not being able to land, delays or even worse canceled)... that would be like the worst nightmare. After flying half way around the globe, I'm not able to travel around the area....

Well after we sort of announced that we're going to the US, all our aunts have flocked over to lend us their winter wear... we now like have too many winter wears that we have to choose which ones to bring with us. First my mum's boss took her winter clothes to lend my mum, that was like 2 bags full of clothes, then there is Aunt Gina, who also came along with her 2-3 bags of winter clothes plus snow shoes. And of course not forgetting Aunt Susan, who lend us her luggage and some warm winter wear and thermal underware... Yup so we're sort of quite prepared for the cold now... hahaha. Not that I mind getting their winter clothes, it does save us a lot of $$. Because sometimes its really not too worth it to buy the clothes when my family do not travel to such cold places often. So its a really big thank you to all my dearest aunts and uncles and friends for their support and help.

Well the entire travel plan is more or less out. Some minor changes are still required though. Now I'm trying to work out the cost and trying to get the hotels settled, to ensure that we have a place to stay and that everything is still within budget. Will still be reading the travel books, just to make sure that we have time to see majority of the stuff at each location. This is really my first time being like a travel agent, the experience is really fulfilling but tiring but I think its really going to be worth it.

Now step aside sun, sand and sea... make way for snow, winter storms and extreme coldness, wahahaha. Don't worry I will keep you guys updated!

Up, Up and Away

Hello Blog...

Well its more or less confirmed... I'll be going to the US, but not alone. I'll be going there together with my Mum, Dad and Da Gu. wahahahaha. Yup, we're now on the waiting list to be on the plane, according to the agent, there's a 50-50 chance that we can make it. Just arranging this is stressful, it kind of a different stress than the exams but still the effects can be felt very evidently. Well I managed to find this great deal for the air tickets with China Eastern Airline that will take us there for only $1100 (including tax!). Will be transiting in Shanghai. So now, I'm liasing with my bro on his schedule and to book our hotels. Well for this trip, I'll be spending quite a bit, of course the 1st big spending will be on the tickets, but the catch is I'm not only paying for myself, but also for my dad. Last minute he say he can't go because he got not enough money. And this really pisses me off. Because to me, if the family wants to go on a holiday, I would not expect money to be a big issue. If it is such an issue, it should have been raised up before we decide that we want to go there. I would not want my family to go to the US and have fun, with my dad still in Singapore, that wouldn't be called a family right. And that pisses me off and it just spoils my mood for the holiday. And because travelling is now a big part of my life, anything that pisses my mood might just turn ugly (I know myself so well). So I went ahead and booked tickets for 4 people and I messaged my dad to tell him that I'll pay for his tickets there, well he didn't reply after that and so I'll just take it that he has accepted it (well he hasn't got a 2nd option). So now we are going to the US for a holiday, and to see my brother as well. wahahahahahaha. But there are so many things to do now, got to book the hotels, make sure we have place to stay. Got to make sure our schedule and my brother's schedule matches. Got to decide if we want to take a tour plan, but the plan must fit our schedules. Arghhhhh. Well I'm sure we can resolve this soon. That is as soon as I can finish my report.

Yess, you've heard it. I got a report to submit by the end of the week, and I have to started writing a single word. Think I'm quite doomed. Really have to start with something, or I won't be able to finish writing it in time. This final year project is really make or break, I know how much it means to me, but I can't put my heart and soul into it. Sometimes this just saddens me. Sl, I just beg you to get your act together, you have already trashed our year 4 papers, please do not trash this project as well.

Okie I'll be back for more updates. Cya, tata!!!!

Its all over...

Hello Blog, its been a while since I last blogged... yup, it was the exams. Of my 24 years of life, this semester has got be be one of the most tiring and suay exams I've ever taken. Things just didn't go as well as they should. Basically, anything that could have gone wrong, went wrong.

1. Study super hard for a paper that only constitutes only 40% of the whole grade
2. Study super hard for a paper that was set so hard that a lot of people could not do
3. Study super hard for a paper only to forget everything in the exam hall
4. Car broke down while on the way to the exam. Late for 1/2 hr, could not finish the paper

Well now that its over, I just hope that everything will be alright from now on. And all the best to me and my friends. Lets hope we'll all make it through this semester.

Now its onto the next task, my FYP. Yup, have been neglecting it for a while, will have to write my report this week (yes, right after my exams). Will have to submit my report by the end of the week. But seriously, I don't have much idea what I want to do for this report. My knowledge for the whole project is really limited to the basics of everything. As much as I hate to admit, but I can't help but agree with my prof that I'm still stuck at this initial phase, and I'm not progressing fast and innovative enough. Hmmmmm, what should I do? Got this 2 days to ponder over this, will have to start writing else I might be able to hand in my report.

As usual right after our exams, we went drinking at our 'favorite' place again. Got quite tipsy, ya rite, I was pretty drunk le. Drank quite a bit. That stupid cy always make use of me to drink with Beng. So of course in the end I drank like much more that him. Well it should be a while before we go for this kind of drinking session again (at least for my case I want to try to keep a bit more sober for my drinking sessions).

Okie, now for another big news. I'm planning a trip to see my good old bro in the US. Wahahaha! Yup, he had told me that he bought a Wii for me to play and that he'll ask his gf to bring it home, but in the end she could not bring it back because her luggage is too heavy le. So now I got nothing on during this holidays, and thats why I'm thinking if I should just go over. Of course its not just about going to get the Wii back (I'm not that rich to fly there just for a Wii), but I can go travel there for a while and at the same time help him bring some of his stuff back home (heard that he's got quite a lot of stuff there ie confirm over weight) .Well now I'm looking for tickets, currently I found an airline that quote me $1100 (inclusive of taxes) to JFK. Think its quite a steal already. So lets see how it goes, and whether I can make it to the US this December.

Oki, thats all for today. I want to go watch Kang Xi Lai Le, hahahaha. Blog next time. Byez!

Need for speed

Yup, its been some time since I blogged... been really busy with school lately. Exams are like in 2 weeks time, I got a project due this week. Now my FYP group is starting a mutiny, we gonna ask for an extension for our interim report. The report is supposed to be due next week, but the heacy school load is dragging us down, and it seems that almost everyone is not ready to hand in the report just yet, haiz. And now even as I go into the last phase of this semester, I have yet to get that study feeling in me yet. Been trying to study as hard as I can, but it just doesn't seem to be working very well for me. Okie guess I shouldn't be blogging too long now, back to my books again. Good luck to me!

Plus one to your age

Been a few days since I last blogged, anyway I'll try to keep this short, just a little update of my super boring life. Well last week I had my nano quiz which I busted, this week I had a fluids quiz, which I think I did not do well also. Didn't really know what I was writing. Even with Joseph in front of me didn't help much, couldn't see clearly what he was writing on his script, haiz.

Well thats that, enough of the sad stuff. On to more happy stuff, last night went for our 101th drinking session at pool junction. It was Yvonne's birthday, so a few of cy's cousin's gathered there for a drinks session and celebration. And I had quite a bit to drink, we opened like 3 bottles of black label, 4 pints of Hoogarden, 3 flaming Lamborghini and 3 graveyards. It was perpetually crazy throughout the night. By the end of it, Joseph was down, think Yvonne was down as well. I was more or less down. Beng was also pretty down. The rest were probably on a high. Luckily there was Sean to bring me home. After I came home I just KO on my bed, without bathing. So I was like reeking with alcohol smell when I woke up in the morning. Got a bit of niaming from my mum, yup she probably could guess how much I drank.

Okok, I know I've said this hundreds of times. But I really gotta get my act together to study le. And again I say that this will be the last outing before exams (actually 2nd last, will be going with Jo, Yvonne and cy to movie tomorrow, haha)

Sad day

Haiz, just took my nano quiz... fail. Its quite demoralizing, especially since I really did put in a lot of effort in this quiz. In all my 4 years, I think I haven't put in this much effort to study for a quiz already. Been staying up late for a week at beauty world to study, memorizing as much as I can, but still.... haiz. How come like that ah?!?! Its not like I never study, or I didn't put in effort to read my note throughly. I really tried my best to understand the concepts and get the correct equations in my head, but how come the ending is always something that does not tally. In engineering terms we could say, amount of effort is not proportional to the grades or grades do not increase with amount of effort. In computing terms, it should be effort/=grades. Haiz, I also don't know what I am writing le. Just a bit sadden and down because of this. Although I was like acting like nothing happened, and was looking cheerful, but I was really really sad about my results. I know that I have a record of not doing well in MCQ papers, but I just don't understand why I can't choose the correct answers.... Haiz still searching for the answers...

Well, there actually some really funny photos taken last night during our study session at beauty world... will upload when I'm feeling a little better...

Shadows of the tiles...

The first sign that I've been playing just a little too much mahjong --- dreaming of mahjong tiles. Yup, thats me, I've been playing so much mahjong lately, I think I'm not getting enough sleep, haha. And when I slept this morning, I was dreaming about mahjong tile. I've played like close to 10 times last month, a new record for me. But again I gotta remind myself that it will be the last entertainment for the year, will have to really settle down for studies already. A lot projects are due soon, will need some time to clear all of them.

Today only slept like 2 hours, then I was awaken by a sms. Basically I messaged my 2nd aunt to see if she has a jumper (because my car's battery went totally flat, and I really mean totally) so that I can try to start my car. So she replied me at 11+ to say she didn't have one, and then I messaged aunt susan to ask if she had one, she immediately called me to say that she has one, but it might not be enough to start my car (because it is quite a small jumper). She told me that she has to fetch Nic to school, so she'll only be able to come at a about 1.30 or so. I was totally alright with that (in fact that was great because it means that I can sleep for another 3 hours). But just 5 mins later, she called me to say that my 2nd uncle is already on the way to my place. So I went to the carpark to meet him. When he came, I was like - whooopie, finally can start the car and can go home and sleep. So he connected the jumper to my car and I tried to start the car, and.... it didn't start. And I tried again, and..... it still didn't start. It just doesn't seem to be charging the car. So we tried to push the car down a small ramp.... didn't work. And we tried pushing it down another ramp.... still didn't work. Haiz, so we went over to Shell and got someone to charge the battery for me. The guy came and tried charging the battery, and..... it still couldn't work. sianz. So he removed the the battery and brought it back to the workshop, of I stayed back to look after the stuff. Because I didn't bring my wallet, I went home to get my wallet. When they came back, the technician brought a new battery and installed it into my car and it worked. Now my uncle was on the phone, so I was thinking, in case he wanted to pay for me, I just be a step faster than him and pay the technician before he puts down the phone, so smart hahaha! And when I was just about to ask the technician how much was the cast, my uncle puts down the phone and tells me," Later you drive the guy back to the workshop, I gotta go to office already, and anyway I already paid the guy." I was like... WHAT! After all my planning he was still a step faster than me, shit! So bo bian, I drove the guy back and then put the car back to ah ma's place. After I reached home, told my mum to pay Aunt Susan. And settle the bills with them...

Will be meeting cy, Beng and Sean again tonight, not for mahjong but foe studies at airport... Hopefully will be able to clear some stuff tonight.

Steamboat

On Sunday, which is the last day of our term break, my project group once again decided that we'll have a streamboat for dinner, after our meeting. We decided that we will hold the celebration at Shih Huan's parents' warehouse at IMM.

I actually found the warehouse pretty cosy. Surrounded by organic food imported from Taiwan. Yup we went to Giant to buy our stuff 1st, grabbed alot of stuff, it was as if it was free... In the end, our bill came up to $144.... hahaha

Of course everything went very well... other than the soup (because cy didn't put enough of the chicken cubes into the soup, so it was pretty bland)... But the biggest problem was, we had too much food... after finishing about 1/2 of what we had bought, we were already full. So we did the smartest thing, we started playing 恐怖数字. Basically, one person will think of a number between 1-99, and the rest will take turns to guess a number. As the game progresses, the range of numbers will get smaller and smaller and whoever strikes the mystery number will have to forfeit. And our forfeit of the night was ----- a bowl of food (filled to the brim).

We had great fun playing the game, although everyone was already super full, we still had to gorge ourselves to finish the forfeit. I lost like 3 times, so I had to eat 3 bowls of food. The biggest loser was probably Beng and Bi Wei.

After we managed to finish like 85% of the food, we packed up and went over to cy's place for ---- yes you've got it, mahjong!... Another thing that I've been doing a bit too much lately. But I must really thank my lucky stars, because I've been pretty lucky with mahjong lately. That night I was like the sole winner, I took back $21... So I just hope my luck won't run out so soon... hahaha...

Oh yah before I forget, just now when I was driving home, I saw Mars!!!! Yup, i remember I did see in the news that this week would be a good week to view Mars. But it was really unexpected, because I saw it while I was driving. It was super obvious, and super big, bigger than the size of the moon. It was like red in colour, and you can only see 1/2 of the planet, but it was sooooo cool. Wanted to take a photo, but I was driving. So I thought that I'll park at the top level of the carpark so that I can snap a picture of it, but it was covered by some blocks infront. Sadz, nevermind, hopefully I'll still be able to catch another glimpse of it tomorrow of something, I'll prepare my camara, hahaha.

okie its pretty late now, think I better sleep, still have to wake up early for school tomorrow, sianz. Will blog when I'm free, nitez!

Yet another drinking session...

Yes yes, I know I've been drinking a little too much lately. Gotta control myself! Well but this time round (actually it was just the next day), I went to pool junction with cy and Ying Xin. Ying Xin wanted to show us her 水母头, so we went to see how 'great' she looks... hahaha... Basically this time we finished up the 1/2 bottle that we left there the previous night, and on top of that the boss helped us to make this gin cocktail, which none of them liked (because they don't like gin, well neither do I), so in the end I drank up that cup. It was actually pretty strong, but its just the gin that I hate. After that the boss made another strawberry cocktail for the lady, which was pretty good, typical ladies' drink. Well for the men, he made this drink for me, which was supposed to be about 1/2 the power of what cy had for his birthday (cy's drink that night was about 75%, so I guess mine was 37.5%). That drink was alright, nothing too special, actually taste almost like our normal liqour + mixer thingy. So I conclude that the boss is only good at making ladies' drinks. Because most of his ladies' drink actually taste pretty good, but not the same for what he whipped up for the men. hahaha. But after those, he came over to join our table for some games, and he brought with him a glass of hoogarden. So that eventually became our forfeit. Think by the end of it, we had like 2 cocktails, 1 glass of special liqour (for me), and about 4-5 glass of hoogarden, and the boss only charge us like $38... pretty insane, don't know how he's gonna earn like that.

Oh yah, on top of the drinks, we also took a lot silly and scandalous photos... hahaha. I only have a few with me, the super scandalous wans are with cy, think I gotta steal from him before he passes them around, wahahaha.

Another drinking session

Okie before I begin my story, I'll just share some photos I took earlier with my hp, it was taken in the evening at my carpark. Nothing spectacular, just think that the sky looks pretty nice....
Well well, remember the last time I think I did say that I was very excited about going drinking, because I haven't really drank for quite some time... well after that session, I've been going drinking every week... sometimes I just amaze myself with the things I do. So for the 4th week this month (ie I went to the pub every week in this month), we went to pool junction again. Actually this round was initiated by kh, think he was bent on revenge this week, hahahaha.
Well this time we ordered something different --- Smirnoff vodka. Usually we would order 1 black lable. It was a good change, for one it looks pretty cool + the mixer was ribena... taste not bad too.

So when kh arrived, we started to play our 5 games again... of course since kh was here on revenge, we would have expected him to prepare himself and train up at home before coming... haiz, in the end still lose... But we learnt new games last night, one of them was 1-2-3 point and another was a dice stacking game. So thats another 2 to our repertoire. Also its been a long time since I drank this much (I wasn't driving, so I could let go a bit, haha)... okok thats all for now, gotta get back to work... sianz

CY's Birthday

For CY's birthday we went for old school, so I booked a table at Dempsey's House, Camp, Barracks. Pretty cool place, its a 3-in-1 concept of restaurant/cafe, bar and spa all under one roof + the waiters and waitress are all dressed in school uniform. Sitting by the lush greenery, with some wind blowing through ya hair, and occasional mosquitoes bites here and there, its just gives a tranquil feel to it ... And of course, being my 1st time at dempsey, I got quite lost inside... drove to 3 dead ends, some private houses and one huge mansion that looks haunted... hahaha... so i like drove around dempsey for 2-3 rounds before I found the place... But I must say the search was quite worth it, the night scenery was pretty happening... there were lots and lots and lots of people there.... and quite a lot of them were just as lost as I was... haha, remember cy went to look for xmm but couldn't find her so he went to ask someone on the road and the reply he got was, "emm actually I'm also lost..." -thiao-
This is the liquor menu... pretty cool rite, I really like the box thingy....

But the best part is, after we settled down we decided to change venue to pool junction instead... So off we went (without ordering anything: and CY say that if we pai sei, he can be the last person to leave, and in the end he walked the fastest) to pool junction. We ordered our drinks and the fun began...
Of course we can't have a birthday bash without a cake rite... So I went to get a cake on xmm's orders. She specifically told me to get a pandan cake + whip cream.

Xmm got her whole leg covered with cream, it looks as if she was shaving her legs. Shy also got quite a bit of cream on her pants... So after the cake smashing exercise, we had to help clean up the place (because it was quite a mess after that...).

After the cake, it was time to drink. We played the five games (Big fish small fish, 007 bang, sha, 7 up, frog), and our main target was of course ------ CY, hahaha. We really tried to aim him for all the games, even the boss of the pub was kind enuff to help offer him a house special (its a 75% alcohol drink), plus everytime he said something I'll try to counter with a ,"are you trying to argue" line.... But in the end he was saved by our self-destruct king ---- kh ..... Luckily Kelly was there to look after him, and of course to drive him home...

Here's a group photo of everyone when we were still very sober.... Well we had great fun that nite... it has been quite a while since we managed to get so many of our classmates together on an 'outing'... Hope for more to come!

Look what I've found...

Hahaha... was on my way to the carpark yesterday to get my car (duh!)... well, found some interesting stuff on my way up the stairs...

Condoms at stairway

Yup, condoms.... hahaha... obviously some people had been naughty the night before.

Pomolo lanterns made by cy's mum

The night before was the mooncake festival, and I was feeling a little bad for not being at home... was planning to be at my grandma's for dinner, but of course since I'm writing this, I didn't make it for dinner. In fact I went to JB in the afternoon with cy, Tammy and Sean. Then in the evening we went to cy's place for mahjong... hmmm actually did I already post something about this already?!?!... Nevermind, can always write again... well anyway, yup so the mj session dragged all the way till 1am (Jo and Yvonne joined us at about 9+), so we more or less got through the mooncake festival at cy's place.

Okie back to yesterday, other than the condoms, well I went ikea to study, great place, got free refills for coffee and tea too... hahaha (cheapo)... and met up with imran after that. He asked me to break fast with him. So once the time arrived, the 1st thing he bought was a ------- hotdog. After that we went over to some restaurant (according to him), that was really just a normal malay coffee shop... yup quite a lot of food....

Some food that we ordered

And after we were full... we went over to Jln Kayu for dessert at Mad Jacks... hahaha... I had the banana crumble with ice cream aka wild boy. I don't know why but restaurants now-a-days seem to like to give very provocative names to their menus like wild boy, blowjob, Dr Juice, quickie etc... Not that I mind, I mean where can you can a blowjob for only $8.50... hahaha

Some interesting photos taken at Mad Jacks

Oh yah, about cy's birthday 'bash', just got the photos from Colleen, will be posting on that a little later (after I sort out everything). Bottom line, it was a great night! hahaha

New stuff on my blog

Well well, i got some new features on this blog... first new introduction to the family is the counter... so i can track how many kukus actually ready what i write other then myself... hahaha (no offence to anyone who is actually reading this k)... another is a change of the title... I've named it 'The Orh Orh Side'... or it can be translated as the dark side (read orh orh in hokkien)... yup, think i have to try to go the bad boy image, see if it'll suit me hahahaha.... okie i don't haf much time to blog today, so I just keep this short. Well look out for more new stuff to be added to this blog (when I'm super free)... tata

Lucky me

Haha, been pretty lucky with mahjong lately. Won a little a Tammy's place previously and just came back from Sean's place, won a little bit more today. Yup, but his sis was a little grouchy today, so had to stop playing at the west wind. But enjoy myself tonight.

Yup but was a little guilty tonight, Tammy and cy came all the way from the west and we only played for a while then they had to take a cab back. Somemore both of them lost, so was feeling a little guilty. Must think of more stuff they can do in the east so that they would consider coming back here again. Actually there are quite a few things to do here, theres prawning, kopi, supper, movie, lan shops, beach etc.... yup there is entertainment here, but I don't know what they would want to do, so it was a bit difficult to suggest something...

Haiz, another feeling guilt came from my lack of studying. Been trying to keep my mind clear of evil thoughts, but it just seem that I can't get my act together and just sit down to study. Really lagging quite a bit, and it would be pretty bad for me if this continues. Oh god, please help me settle down quick and start my study regime. There are like so many things I do not know and I'm still like taking things lightly. I did try to start studying today, but everything seem to be going very slowly. I can stare at the same page on my notes for like hours and still only absorb minimum knowledge. Hopefully I will be able to catch up during this 1 week break, really don't want to end up having to ta bao anything this sem. Think maybe I need some planning for myself, well for a start (which is a pretty late start, haha), I've decided that tomorrow is FYP day. So I'll be concentrating on my FYP tomorrow, and if I'm lucky to be able to finish a lot tomorrow, I'll squeeze in some studying as well... Well ideally it should happen that way.

Also tomorrow my dad says that he'll take the car for servicing, actually I really want to follow him to the service centre, but it is pretty far away (at jurong). And the thought of it just puts me off.... and if I go there with him, my day is literally over.... haiz don't know how lah, hopefully can work out something.

Entertainment day

Firstly let me just show a pic of dinner that I made about 2 nights ago.... hahaha

Yup, its the japanese curry with rice. I bought the paste thingy to cook, pretty easy. The taste was not too bad, however the flavour was supposed to be extra spicy but it was like not spicy at all...
-------------------------------------------------
Okie, I really feel like I've been a little slack these days. haven't been studying a lot, in fact yesterday was literally games day. Basically the day started in school, with my group making a presentation. And of course, our presentation was a very last minute effort (as usual, haha). Yup we only finish doing our slides the night before. But still, the whole presentation thingy went pretty well. We even got for ourselves some 'fans', wahahaha. Yup, one of our classmates told us that they like our group, because our presentation is always 'short and sweet', hahaha. Well that settles another presentation, just another one more to go for this module.

Yup and immediately after lesson, while I was walking with cy to his lab, we saw Ying Xin on the comp, emailing her prof (because she's late for her appointment again). So cy had to ask her if she wanted to go ktv. And of course, not long after, we found the 3 of us at JEC. Initially wanted to take the k lunch package, but thought that it was a bit bo hua, coz can only sing for 3 hrs. So we took the k student instead (allows us to enter at 1 and can sing till 7). A bit later Tammy joined us at the ktv as well. Time was really passing very slowly, for the first time, it felt like no matter how many songs we sang, there was still so many hours more to go. It was quite a tiring k session, we literally sang till there were no more songs for us to sing (haha, not that bad lah, but can consider as no more songs that we want to sing). Well we were eating so much tibits and singing so many songs there, it was pretty fun. But the spoiler came when one of the staff who came in to our room to replace the tibits said,"tibits are for eating, not for playing", and after saying that she just walk off. It basically pissed most of us off, coz (1) we were eating and not playing with the tibits (2) we paid for the tibits. Yup so that was the turn off of the whole k session. But I think we eat about 10 bowls of the tibits so after k, I was super full hahaha.

Cy trying very hard to singing emotionally to 'xin bu liao qing'

the drinks and tibits we had

After ktv, just when we were about to decide if we should leave for home or go study. So Tammy said she's too tired to study, but she has the energy for mahjong.... and tadah, the next moment we were at Tammy's place playing mahjong, hahaha. My luck was more of less ok last time, managed to win bout $9 (yup, very happy with that). Left Tammy's place at about 12... and just before we were deciding how to get them home, we came up with another ingenious idea of going to cy's place for drinks. But on consideration (that there are only the 3 of us), we though we'll skip the liqour and go for kopi near Ying Xin's place instead. So we went for teh and kopi, and we chatted there till about 3 in the morning before I drove them home. I was super tired when I reached home, went to bathe and just slept.

Well, today we'll be going to Dempsey road for food and drinks at night... pretty much looking forward to it, haven't been there, heard its quite a nice place, so I'm gonna check it out tonight. But cy and beng say its nothing much just a lot of mosquitoes, hahaha.

Car down

Hmmmm how should I put it, well I must say I'm soooooooo proud of myself today. I actually changed my van tyre (I've got no idea if this is the correct spelling, but I just can't seem to find anything similar in dictionary.com, so to hell with it, as long as I say its correct, it is correct, wahahaa). Anyway, back to the story. Well today while I was driving home along SLE, I didn't have enough time to escape some metal piece (don't know what it was on the road, only recognise it to be metal) that was on the road, so basically my wheels went over that thingy. Of course the first thing I told my friend Sean was, " I hope my tyres don't punture.".... of course, the next thing you know it my van started vibrating like crazy, and taa-daa, my tyre gave way. So I was like on the expressway with my friend and with a flat tyre. Sianz.... And the best part is I've never changed a tyre before (I only briefly saw my dad do it once). Luckily Sean was there, he was a car mechanic during ns, so I guess that helped a little, although he told me that he's also not sure how to change the thing. So we just had to try our luck to unravel the mysteries of tyre changing.

First I went to get the tools from the back and unloaded the spare tyre from underneath the van. Then we had to figure out how to use the car jack to jack the van off the floor.

Step 1: Learning to use the car jack

After that was done, we had to unscrew the nuts from the flat tyre. And that was the hardest part of it all.... The nuts just wouldn't come off.... We had to pull, jerk the nuts with our hands and feet on the thing (I've got no idea what its called, basically its some crossed screwdriver thingy... whatever). We did have to struggle with the nuts for some time before they finally came off...

Step 2: Using all our drink milk strength to remove the nuts and getting our hands super dirty

After that it was all smooth sailing, and for 2 noobs in tyre changing, we managed to change the tyres in less than 1/2 hour... So I think that was quite an achievement, wahahaha. Have to really thank Sean for helping me throughout the whole process... hahaha.

Well after the tyres were changed, I found out that the new tyres were not inflated. So the first thing we had to do, is to get out at the nearest exit (which is at woodlands), to find the nearest petrol station so that I can pump some air into my wheels... And of course I didn't know how much air to pump, I had to retort to the oldest trick in the book - argaration method. Luckily that worked and I was finally able to set my mind at ease. Haha, nonetheless it was quite an exciting experience. I must admit that I had fun changing the tyre, though it was pretty tiring... hmmm pretty rthyming here - tyre, tiring... haha okie crap....

Sean and Me: Victory pose on SLE (yah notice my messy hair from all that 'exercise' on the expressway, I'll try to upload a more flattering photo of myself soon. hahaha)

So now that I'm equipped with my new found knowledge, I'll be invincible on the road... hahahaha.... maybe not...

A new beginning....

Okie, this isn't the first time I'm blogging, I used to have a blog but I didn't use it for some time and the whole seem to have disappeared. Well, its been a few years since that happened, so forget it. Anyway, I only thought of starting this to document what I'm doing and maybe some memories that I have of this miserable life that I have (haha, okie its not all that bad).

I've always been resistant to this blogging thingy because I know I won't have the patience to upkeep the postings, so I'll just see how far this will take me. But this is a good form for me to express myself, and at the same time train up on my pathetic english. I've never been good with words and alphabets, its all so foreign to me, so I do hope that this blog-phasis will help transform my command of the language. I know I won't be blogging everyday other day, so hopefully blogspot won't close down my blog again.

Well maybe a little update on my pathetic life. School sux as usual, haven't been able to understand most of my lectures. Been really trying very hard to pay attention but it just doesn't seem to be working, nothing seems to the going into my head. Sometimes I really wonder if its just me or does it happen to everyone in the lecture theater. Had 2 presentations this week, one for my final year project and another for my 4007 module. Both of them went ok, with minimum efforts put in of course. My group has been telling ourselves that we gotta put in more effort this semester, but of course so far its been 'say only, no action', wahahaha. But I promise I'll buck up.

Been a little addicted to Bleach lately, so far I've watched till 100 something episode. Yup, I know its still a little off many others, but considering I started watching it only recently, I think I've been watching too much of it already, hahaha. But heard from my friends that the next part of it are fillers, yup a turn off there, hopefully it'll revert back to the manga version.
