St James

Just the night before I was at St James for the first time, it was a great night. We had pretty much fun. Other that the thing that the place took quite a while to warm up. St James is made up of a few clubs and pubs. So we only had to get the entrance to any one of the clubs and we would have access to all the clubs. We decided to sign a membership, which allows three of us to enter for free plus we get a free bottle. There were 7 of us, Me, Yuliang, Zhen Rong, Ah Bee, Howard and 2 of Yuliang's friends, Wei Lun and Jun Long (if I remembered their names correctly). Wei Lun is a bartender at Bala's so he smuggled in an extra bottle for us. The 2 of them were pretty cool guys so getting along was too difficult. Then, after being in the club for a while Wei Lun's girlfriend came.... And to my surprise, it was Berlinda!!! Sean's best friend. Yup I sort of know her, not very well though. It was quite a surprise, I mean the world is sooooo small. Well Gaberial joined us later at the club, he had water polo training. As I said, the place was pretty cool, we started off at Powerhouse. Music there was ok, but the crowd sucks. We were there at 11 and there was still no one inside. I think the place only started to get a little better after 1am. Even at that time the place was not packed. Well of course while we were there we went to check out the other clubs as well. Walked over to The Boiler Room, which was packed with people, a stark contrast to Powerhouse. It makes me wonder how come there is such a big difference. Well we still took our drinks at Powerhouse, Wei Lun didn't want to drink much because Berlinda was there, so he did his thang, by mixing the drinks for us. One thing to comment, Powerhouse gave us a jug of green tea plus another 2 jugs of plain water. I don't know if it was us who ordered the plain water, but if it wasn't, it was damn cheapskate lo. Plain water plus hard liquor is not the best combination. The last time I had that was in BS. Its sooooo Ah Pek. Anyway we still finished our drinks. By then Wei Lun and Berlinda had already left, they had work the next day, so didn't stay too late. We finished up the drinks and went to walk around the place. Oh yah did I mention anything about the dancing, its been a long time since I came to a club, so its been ages since I last danced and I think age is catching up on me. Was a little tired after the dance. Anyway after the drinks we went over to dragonfly. Dragonfly was interesting, it was like a 歌台. Every now and then there will be like people getting on stage to sing. It can be english, mandarin or canto pop. And the singers were very good, their voice were quite power. Quite a refreshing change from normal clubs. But I think it does get a little difficult for some to accept this concept, haha. Ended the night at around 4am, of course I drove. Didn't really drink much that night. There were like 8 of us with 2 bottles. So it wasn't really a lot. I was pretty sober, but of course in the eyes of the government I wasn't. Well luckily I didn't meet with any road blocks that night.

Resting and watching soccer beside this huge beer mug (if I'm not wrong its at Tiger Live)

Enterance of Dragonfly. Oh yah someone was fighting here just mins b4 we entered, he was later pulled out by the bouncers in front of us.

Singers at Dragonfly. Great performances!

Credit to the person who drew my header graphic

Okie, although I did mention just a few minutes ago that I'd like to thank this person for his work. But I thought that I should be a little more sincere by saying a big thank you to him in an entire blog post just for himself. So to csm2mk (whoever and wherever you are), well you have quite a number to great designs, the one that I took is fabulous, good luck to you and here's wishing that you'll continue to come up with more creative and great designs. Kudos!

A new look

Of course when I say a new look, I'm not referring to myself. I'm talking about my blog. Yup, for those who actually saw what my blog looks like previously (yah right, who am I kidding, I'm the only one who knows how it looks like), my blog now comes in a funky green look. I think this looks pretty cool, and it does makes me feel a little younger. And for those who of my really bestest friends out there who might think that I did the header myself (I know you bastards too well, you'll probably not think this way), I have to disappoint you guys. I found this design online on flickr, its from this person called csm2mk. Yah, if you ever see this, thanks a lot. Anyway my only contribution was take his design and added in some words to it using photoshop. That probably only requires like 0.5% photoshop skills. Well I did try to understand how the template thingy works, but my brain has limited space now, so I have not been able to fully grasp that, so other than a change of colour and a header, and different fonts, everything else is the same. Well, you should know that its not easy to understand all these computer jargons, especially for a computer idiot like myself. So after serious consideration, I thought I'll just fuck it, maybe I'll be able to understand it in the future.

Okie some updates of my exciting life. Yesterday I went for another shooting of Jack Neo's movie. This time I was a male (of course male, this was never a point of doubt) nurse. Didn't do much for this shoot, all I had to do was just to walk down the walkway. It was sooooo stupid. And for the first time, I had to do an overnight shoot. I reached the venue at Balestier at about 9pm, shooting went all the way till 4.30am in the morning, OMG!!!! And the best part of it was that I was only used from 11pm to about 1am. The wait was terrible, I was so tired I just slept on the sofa while they were filming inside. Sometimes I really don't know what they were thinking. I don't blame the AP, or casting crew (Olivia or Marcus), it not their fault not to release us, because they have no idea what the director wants to shoot later on. But I was thinking that the director aka Mr Neo, should have known better. If he knows that he is not going to be doing any wide shot anymore through the night, then just ask his men to release us lo. But still filming is fun lah. I can't deny that, though the wait is horrible. Below are some pics of the shoot...

Helloooooooo nurse!

filming took place at Parkway healthday, medical center (its near MHA)

Tonight I'll be going to St James for the first time. Will be meeting my GIP mates there. They meeting for dinner, which I've given a pass. Will be joining there later.

Makeover

Yup, I'm currently on a revamp of my blog. As you can see, now my blog is very dark and gloomy with everything black in colour. It like my life is soooooo sad. Well all that is set to change soon. I'll be changing a number of things. The first step is of course the title. Yup, I've already changed that. Will be thinking of the colour schemes and finally make a new header for myself soon. I've seen other people's blog, and how funky they look, but sorry, I'm a hopeless with the computer, so its not going to be easy for me to make those specular stuff on my blog. Sounding nice, I'll just say that I like to keep things simple, but of course in actual fact, its because I don't fucking know how to do it. The changes will take some time before it comes out fully, so stay tuned. What the fuck, no one's gonna read this anyway. Well, so the above statements are directed to myself.

Window Shopping

One of my absolute fav past time is window shopping. Well its because I can't afford to buy everything, so more often than not, I can only satisfy my eyes. And window shopping is made even better when you do it with people you just love. And yesterday I went to Ikea and Giant with my fav friend/brother/sister/whatever you want to call him, Imran!!! Yup, been some time since I saw him and I always such a good time talking and gossiping with him. He always have so many stories to tell me. Even though I still cannot think of any similarities between us, we are still such great friends. Sometimes friendship is just such a funny thing. Maybe thats what they call affinity. People from such different background and personalities can come together and be comfortable with each other so much. Sometimes it just amazes me. Well we had a great time bitching about everything around us, and having lunch together. Yup, this few months a a lot about meeting people I don't see often. It started in CNY when I met my bandmates from sec sch and JC. Those people whom I haven't seen in like maybe 2 years or more. Then its Imran, not that many years, the last time I saw him was like probably 3 weeks or a month back. We not meeting up as much as before. Then I got a call from my long lost sec and pri sch friend, Zhi Xiang!!! I haven't seen him in like at least 5 years!!! I lost his phone number so couldn't contact him. He wanted to meet me to catch up last week, but didn't follow up. So I guess he's pretty busy now, I'll probably wait a little while more before I contact him, don't want to trouble him. I think he's working now, so the timing might not be as flexible as mine. We'll see....

Planning

Haiz, writing this blog at 1.30 in the morning, and in school. Yup you didn't hear wrongly, I'm still in school. Doing some planning for the euro trip. Well I have not had dinner, told my mum that I'll eat at home, so I'm saving it for home dinner. Think I'm also done already, so probably will be leaving soon. Tired!!! Today I've booked a total of 1 hotel for the gang, at least I have some contribution. hahaha. Well the reason I'm staying is because I came to school for lessons today, after lessons I went for a jog around school (been some time since I jogged around school, luckily I didn't lose too much on my timing). Anyway, I'm still a little sick today, haven't been feeling at my best lately. Got a little flu, now I'm slightly better. Hope to get even better soon.

Presentation

Forgot to mention something about my presentation today. Today my group had our 4E03 presentation. We had to present our report in front of the lecture, and of course we were less than prepared for the presentation. But luckily, with the blessings of the gods, we pulled it through. The member that worried me the most was Fergie. Although I hate to admit it, but the fact that he's a foreigner makes it a little difficult to do stuff. There is just something about the way he speaks that really confuses me. I can hardly understand what he is saying throughout his 5 min of presentation, needless to say, the audience. Even during the question and answer, I think the answer he gave just confuses us further, haha. Darren was surprisingly alright. This is my first time working with him, so I did not know what to expect. but his presentation, although it should have been one of the least prepared one, sounded quite convincing. So kudos to him. It was also the first time I am working with Ying Xin, she was actually ok lah. Her biggest problem was that she was looking at her notes all the time. So it looks like she was just reading from the notes. I've already done countless presentations with cy and huan, so I knew exactly what to expect from them, and they didn't fail me. As usual, huan gave me the slides at 1 in the morning (but he wasn't the latest, Darren sent his slides to me at 3). And with cy's gift of the gab, he could handle the presentation well enough. For me, I think my biggest problem today is that my presentation is a little short. I didn't have much to say. But presentation wise, I'd like to think I did ok. But the killer came during the question and answer session. The questions posed to us were super difficult. There was this Ah Pui, who asked questions that were like trying to kill us off. Fuck lah, we're all in the same boat, must you make life so difficult. Can't you just ask some dumb easy question for show only. He even had to relate our topic to a past lecture by the prof, I mean what the fuck. Well I'm glad its all over, now there is only 1 presentation left, and thats my FYP presentation, Lets hope I can get through that with flying colours as well. Once again, Kudos to my group... Well done!!!!

Sex Paradise

Well if you remember I did blog about an incident when I found packets of condoms at the stairway on the carpark at my place. That was last year, well today I found an empty packet of durex along the way from my flat to the carpark. Man, these people are really urgent, can't even wait to be in somewhere out of sight before opening the packet. And this sets me thinking, is my carpark becoming a sexual heaven for all these thrill seekers, who are looking for a secluded and free place for a quickie. Ever since finding the condoms last year, I've caught people driving up to the top floor of the carpark, then drive down when they see that I'm there. Then there are times at night when I see cars parked at the top (sometimes with the engine still running, sometimes off), and I believe that some form of hanky panky is going on. In fact, at about 11pm earlier, I went to tear the night coupon for my car, and there was a car in the front parking lot (with the engine running). Well I cannot imagine who would be in the car or what else they could be doing with the engine running, at the top a carpark. All this seem to suggest that my carpark is slowly becoming a sexual hotspot. Hmmmm, am I supposed to be happy about this, I sometimes wonder. Well lets see when us the next time I'll catch another couple having fun there.

Money Not Enough 2

Today I went for the filming of the next Jack Neo's movie, Money Not Enough 2. Well you'll probably have guessed that I'm not taking on any big roles... still more or less an extra, but I'm now a higher paid extra. I'm now into freelance extra-ing. Yup, so my pay is going to me fully and not cut by some agency. But I must say, today's money is really not easy to earn. We were acting as protesters, opposing to the government's increasing implementation of ERP gantries. So throughout the day, we had to shout and shout and shout all the way. Now my voice is a little hoarse, sianz. But I must say, even though it was tiring, it was pretty fun. Because it is virtually impossible to act this out on the streets so the crew borrowed the old Hua Yi Sec school hall and covered the hall with a green screen and floor. So what we had to do is act out everything as if the items were around. Anything that was green in colour will be superimposed with the background. Throughout the day, we had to keep shouting," No ERP, no ERP...." With our hands in the air, and faces of aggression. Then I was one of the men to uproot one of the gantry and carry it on a march (supposedly towards a river), after which we were supposed to throw the gantry into the river and cheer after that. It may sound simple and easy, but the whole take took the entire day. I reported for the shoot at 8.30am, and it only ended at 8.30pm. Thats a freaking 12 hours. Well, there weren't any 'stars' today, so it was solely 'extras day'. There was like close to 100 extras, and throughout the day we had to keep repeating the protest. It was so tiring. Anyway I took some photos... will attach them below... enjoy!

Celebrity Look-a-like

Just found this webby that matches your photo to celebrities that look like you. Pretty interesting, but how accurate it is i'll let you decide. Actually this has been around for quite some time already, but only just tried it out... okie, enjoy!

Another rejection

Just got an email from SIA to tell me that my application for a job was unsuccessful. Haiz, that closes one more door, gotta look for another opportunity now. They didn't state the reason of rejecting me but I got a feeling that there are 2 areas where I probably lose out, one is the essay and the other is my school results. I really think I did ok for the interview, out of 100 I'll give myself a 75 for the interview (haha, under my own grading system which is very difficult to explain). Haiz, sad. I had really wanted to join SIA. Guess they didn't think I'll fit into the organisation. Well I still thank them for the time and opportunity to go for the interview, hopefully I'll be able to get a good job soon... Now I'll just try to think about what could have gone wrong during the interview that may have contributed to this tragedy.... *sob sob

Another 6 weeks to the end of my school life

Yup, you've heard it right. Another 6 more weeks and I'm officially no longer a student. Goodbye to student concession mrt and bus fares, goodbye to Mac and KFC student meals, goodbye to student rates for entertainment centers.... Goodbye to all the benefits of being a student. As I take a step closer to the working world, I soon begin to wonder, am I prepared to enter this new realm. From now on, I'll have to be earning money to support myself and my family. No more reading notes and late night study for exams. No more skipping school, and I'll have to be on time for work everyday. I never thought I'll say this, but maybe I will miss my school days. I used to tell myself that school sucks, and that I just can't wait to get myself out of school life. I mean my life now is just facing books, and notes, and preparing presentation slides. And the best part is I'm poor and can't buy things to satisfy myself. Well all that is set to change when I start working right? Hmmm, I guess so. There are good and bads in everything, and I think there's no way I can escape from whatever is going to happen. So I just have to make the best of it. Hopefully I'll be able to find a job that is interesting and fun and exciting. And of course with a good pay. hahaha

Anyway gotta go pay my car license or something... its due next week, and I think the place is not open on weekends. So I'll have to make my way down later. Another few hundred dollars gone. But anyway, I got a shoot this Sunday and Monday for Jack's new movie, probably some extra role that needs people to fill the ackground. But nevermind, at least I'll be paid, thats all that matters.

Still in school

Haiz, I'm still in school now... been here since 2 in the afternoon. Went to submit my FYP today at the office. Damn sianz, raining + cooling weather = good to sleep, but I was like on the way to school. Some more my car's compressor is spoilt, so the air con is sort of not working. And the result is a very foggy windscreen, had a super hard time driving to school. I also didn't dare to go too fast. Well at least my FYP is more or less done, just some amendments more and its over, yuppie!!!!

Before school I went over to TM to check out the phones available. Yup, I'm gonna change my HP soon. But the prices are pretty steep, so I couldn't decide what I wanted. In the end, I went to Starhub to extend my $50 voucher's expiry date. Initially when I asked the girl to extend the date she told me that in the system, the voucher is valid till the end of May, so of course I was pretty happy, thinking that I still had a lot of time to decide. Then just as I got on to the car, she called me to tell me that she got it wrong, and that she had informed the office to send me another voucher, and the voucher will be valid for 1 month from date of issue. Well that was good enough, it gives me slightly more than a month to decide on the phone I want. So I still have some time to review the phones. Oh yah, at the Starhub shop I saw one of my ex-classmates, Joel. He was from SAS but I can't remember if I was the same class as him in sec 1, 2 or 3 & 4. But don't think he recognise me.Well I do look pretty different from the past, so I don't blame him. But anyway I didn't go up to introduce myself.

So anyway I'll be back at Starhub soon to get my phone, hopefully the phone that I want will become cheaper in 1 month's time, hahaha. Okie, I'll get back to my stuff... don't want to stay too late tonight.

FYP 1st draft done!!!!!

Yeah, I've finally finished with my FYP first draft... After weeks of toil and sleepless nights (yah right, pls me getting sleepless nights for FYP, maybe in my next life), but anyway I've finished with my FYP and the feeling's great. But more amendments are still required, some touch ups like adding another example to the report (I took out the example on Ritz Carlton Hotel), and I want to add info from this year's budget speech. And of course I'm expecting my great prof to return the report with and 1 million amendments, so that means I will still have a lot to do..... haiz...

Anyway I went for my interview with SIA today at the training centre. And the most funny part was the security guard didn't let me walk around the lobby. I wanted to walk to the toilet and he came over to stop me, he said that I should ask for permission because I was using a visitor pass and I shouldn't wander about. What crap. I know there are security issues at the place, but since you have already checked my purpose and scanned my pass, there should some form of respect for my presence there. We're adults here, not some primary or secondary school children on excursion ok. Tsk Tsk, asking for permission from a security guard to go to the toilet. Bleh! But overall the interview went pretty well. At least I think I did ok in there. I was pretty comfortable, although the interviewers were pretty tough in the room. They really asked very specific questions and try their best to make us flaw during the interview. I think I caught a glimpse of the interviewer's paper, and it seems that I scored quite a few 4s, didn't see and 5s though *sob sob. But the killer wasn't the interview, it was the section after the interview. After the interview there was an essay test and summary test. OMG!!! GP, one of my worst subjects. There were like 3 questions and we had to choose to write one of them. The length should be 400-450 words. Then there was summary, we had to summarize a pretty long passage about conservation of energy in 200-250 words. Oh my god, it was like that GP paper 2 all over again. So I think after that if I don't get the 2nd interview for SIA, it would probably be because of my essay and summary, haha. All the best!

Btw I attended Adrian & Vanessa's Wedding on sunday. It was great seeing another couple tying the knot but it is also a reminder to myself that I am still single, DAMN! And the food was pretty good at Marriott, there wasn't too much, I think the portion was just nice. At least after it all I wasn't super full. Didn't have much time to congratulate the couple that night, so here's wishing the 2 of you a great and blessed wedding, work hard towards a little Adrian and little Vanessa ok, hahaha.

Oh yah another interesting thing happened today, or maybe I should say its a pretty sad thing. When I came back from the interview I saw a lot of people gathered on the overhead bridge, then I saw that the whole road was cordoned off by the Police. It was along Loyang road. So of course the Kay Po me quickly parked my car and went to see what the whole commotion was all about. And the first thing was OMG! There was a car crushed (I'm not kidding, the whole car was crushed) in between a truck/lorry and a bus. The first thought was," The driver confirm die". There was absolutely no way he could survive in that crash. The wrack was really terrible. So the police were using some cloth to cover up the wrack, and probably the body. The whole place looked pretty frightening. But the funny thing was, my car is apparently famous now. Well it seems that the news camera caught the footage of my car turning into the private house, and just on the 11.30 news the footage was reshown like 3 times, haha. So I have a mini star in my car now...

Okie its getting pretty late now, gotta sleep soon. Will be submitting my report tomorrow, yuppie!!!

Europe

I'll probably be going to Europe for my grad trip!!! Yeah!!! But its gonna cost me a bomb, we're expecting it to come to around $6k, so after the whole thing I'll have to come back to SG to eat grass. Now looking out for cheap air tix, hopefully can settle this soon. I just told my bro that I'll be going Europe and ask him to invest in the send your brother to grad trip fund... well he doesn't have a choice, so he has to invest in me, what to do I'm his bro, wahahaha. But before anything I gotta finish my FYP 1st, supposed to submit today, but I still have one last part to type so I hack care lo, gonna submit on wed instead. My prof got no choice anyway. Wah, I think I sound a little bitchy and bossy in this blog, haha. But thats life, you gotta accept me. Tomorrow I got an interview with SIA, gotta prepare a little for it later on, now I better get back to my report, aiming to complete it today! Good Luck to Me!!!!

My Birthday!?!

Well, last night was supposed to be my 'birthday'. Damn that cy and gang, he went to tell Dong Yuan's bro that its my birthday and that he should make a Ho Li Kei Sei for me, so after that he thought maybe just get a graveyard and a flaming should be enough for me. But some guy at the counter told him not to waste money on those useless drinks. And if cy wanted a strong drink he should get the Satan Loves You (they changed the name to Leong Loves You, kns). Well the drink came with 2 cups, there was this really awful drink that taste literally the same as Ho Li Kei Sei. After i finished it (took me quite a few mouths to finish, an I already wanted to vomit after the drink), I was given this lime drink that taste pretty good. I finish that much easier than the first drink. After the 2 drinks, our dear boss said," the first drink is about 60%, the second drink is stronger, its about 90%" I almost fainted immediately. And the best part is, I have an interview this morning. Luckily I already called my mum to wake me up in the morning else I would not have made it to the interview.

Today I went for my first interview with Maesek. The place was damn difficult to find, its even further than school. I had some trouble finding the place, I kept looking out for Kepple Fels (because the guy told me its opposite Kepple), but the thing is there are so many Kepple along Pioneer. And that wasn't the most challenging task, after I found the place, I went into the field, there are so many identical containers I didn't know where to go. After asking a lot of people, and making a few wrong turns I finally found the office (I was like 20mins late for my first interview). For the interview, he first asked me to tick a form of several characteristics that I think others would expect of me. The second form is the same as the first, only that now I had to tick on the characteristics that I think I possess. Then it was onto a quiz of 50 questions. I had to answer as many as possible in 12 mins. The questions were pretty easy just needed some thinking, some had literally no correct answer, but to answer everything in 12 mins is quite a mission impossible. Everything went fine, then it was question and answer, so he asked the usual questions that my Pro Comm tutor had told us. What are me strengths and what are my weakness. And what I like to do in my free time. The most interesting question would be, if I was in a room of 50 people, all of whom I do not know, what would I do. Think my answer for that question is not very good, could have given a much better answer. But then again I doubt I'll be able to get to the next round of interview, in the first place I didn't place too much hope in this interview. Its not that I lack the self confidence, but Maesek is very difficult to get in, and I am prepared to be rejected. Well I still have another interview on tues with SIA. Hopefully it will turn out better. Huat Ah!

Manhunt

Well its been in the news for the past 2 days, the hottest topic after Edison Chen... Its the escape of Singapore's most wanted man from some detention centre in Whitley Road... Now security all over Singapore has been heightened and all our resources from the army to the police are on a look out for this very dangerous man. Actually I really wonder how that man managed to escape from Singapore supposedly strong security, even more so when this man is classified as very dangerous by Singapore. I don't know, but I think some heads will be on the chopping board for this incident. Well someone has to be accountable for this, and this is very important because Singapore's security has sort of been undermined now. But amazingly, from the news, people on the street are not really bothered by his escape. I know that it is important to keep our lives going with minimum disruptions, but shouldn't we be a little more concerned about the trouble he might bring if he's not caught. Everyone interviewed seem quite nonchalant about the issue, only saying that they are very supportive of the police's effort and that they believe that he will be caught soon. But no one seem to be the least bit worried of their own safety. I'm not saying that we should be panicking now, but at least try to be a little more defensive now, take certain precautions to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Isn't that what all the advertisement about national defense is all about.

Well I do hope that this dangerous man will be caught soon, good luck to the police and the army!
